It's an interesting machine.
The main chipset and transport are all-Sony on this player, as pictured, however post DAC signal processing is custom done by Yamaha, using NEC and Yamaha components. Basically it's a Yamaha-modded clone of Sony CDC-C500, with Yamaha's final signal processing and Yamaha firmware.
It sounds clean and sweet; I think it sounds better than CDC-C500; no treble harshness.
CDs on the carousel can be repeated or mixed ie play one song on one disc and then play randomly another song on a different disc.
