What are REASONABLE computer prices Introduction
BUYERS: here's my own opinion of used computer price, +-50% is a reasonable price range. If you see something 200% of price listed here, it's probably not worth it.
SELLERS: make a reasonable pricing and get it sold quickly.

Computers supporting Windows 98 are vintage, not discussed here.
Gaming computers and professional workstations can have $100~$200 premium. Ultrabook/ultraportable can have $40-$50 premium.
Regular computers base price:
Before 2005, <$10
2005-2010 < $30, including ones using Intel Core and Intel Core 2.
2010, 1st gen i3/i5/i7, worst, very slow, < $20
2011-2013, 2nd and 3rd gen i3/i5/i7, usable < $60. Last gen to run Windows XP.
2014-2015, 4th and 5th gen, < $80
2016-2018, 6th, 7th gen, < $120. 6th gen is the last one to run Windows 7.
2018-2020, 8th, 9th gen, < $250. 8th gen is the first one to run Windows 11.
2020-today, each year lost 15%-20% original price.
4GB RAM, $5-$8
8GB RAM, $15-$25
16GB RAM, ~$40
32GB RAM, ~$70
2.5 inch HDD, 2TB~$30, 1TB ~$10
DO NOT BUY USED SSDs if you can not see its real SMART data or can not do a performance test.
2.5 inch SSD, $10 per 120GB
M.2 SATA SSD, $12 per 120GB
M.2 NVMe SSD, $14 per 120GB
Relative price/class of major brands:
ThinkPad P/X > T > E
HP Zbook > EliteBook > ProBook > consumer laptops.
Dell Precision workstations > Dell Alienware > Dell business computers(Latitude, Optiplex) / XPS > Dell consumer computers.
Laptop batteries, older than 2020, zero value. Batteries in laptops newer than 2020, if > 60% life, $30~$80.
Apple Macs(using Intel CPU):
Intel Macs (base system) have $50-$150 premium over others.

iMac 1080p screen alone, < $20
Broken/yellow iMac screen, $0
MacBook Pro 16' 3k screen, $200
MacBook Pro 15' 2.8k screen, $150

MacBook Air, retina display, $40
ALL OTHER low-res MacBook screens, $0.
The price always depends on conditions, addons, value other than computing itself (retro gaming, vintage, collection, etc.)
