Masterfully handcrafted stitching with pliable, silky soft, glistening, genuine mink fur. This mink fur cape bolero is in lovely condition inside and out.
This pristine, chic mink fur in a rich shade of Autumn Haze (a medium brown/gold colour with darker brown accenting), graces your shoulders without restrictive arm-holes or sleeves but gives the illusion of a jacket. Can be worn closed or open allowing freedom of movement.
This classic stole is shaped with a fully fur backed mink collar and made to fit onto the shoulders for a cropped silhouette. There is no closure but there is a pocket in the lining at either end into which one would insert one’s hands to hold it closed. (photo 3) It is lined in a taupe silk satin damask and is discreetly monogrammed with three initials. (photo 2) The high quality mink stole has been well cared for over the decades!

Comments from the Family: VINTAGE fur should be used, tended, loved and worn. Wearing second-hand fur is so much less detrimental to the environment than buying a new wool jacket is. I would much rather wear my grandmother’s fur that has lasted since the ’50s than go buy something cheap that is worn for two years and dispose of. It is actually “green” to wear vintage fur. Give a loving home to a fabulous vintage fur, and you might even start a valuable conversation.
FYI - Fur stoles were extremely popular from the 1930s through the late 1950s.
Most fur stoles from the 1920s through the 1960s have three layers: the exterior fur, an interior shaping layer made of buckram fabric, and a satiny lining that was worn next to the skin.
