Want to Sell your Audio/Stereo Gear? - Purchasing or Consignment Introduction
I am a music guy, anybody who knows me will tell you I thrive on mostly Rock N Roll, but, really, any music that moves me, makes me smile. I have owned hundreds of pieces of audio gear since I was young, had the privilege of listening to the same music through different pieces just to hear the differences mixes and matches make. I have been servicing and refurbishing other peoples and my own audio gear for over 25yrs and have seen a lot more, and heard a lot more, enjoyed a lot more than most. One of the most disappointing things I come across continually, is the amount of other people's equipment I get in here to look at because someone had purchased it from an original owner, claimed in 'Excellent', 'New' or 'MINT' condition that had Not been, or minimally used for many years. Now, it was being used continually or often, and was having problems, scratchy, clicks, rattling, failing partially or completely. Pretty hard not to feel that they had been taken now having to shell out more money to make it work the way it should have and hopefully not exceed its value to them. Quite a few people do not/will not to sell their equipment to me knowing that I, am going to be reselling their equipment, making a profit that they could have made themselves or them simply wanting to sell only to another person who will not have to pay 'markup' from a middle man. I am going to tell you that THIS 'middle man', invests time and energy into everything he sells to do the best he can to ensure that someone who comes here to, check over, listen to, mix and match pieces then purchase, they Will, in-fact enjoy for years because someone who cares, and enjoys audio, has taken the time to check it over, clean, repair, replace, do what needs to be done, within reason. Anyone who knows me, will attest to the fact that I do Not sell things for huge amounts, I try to be fair with everything I sell, looking at the time/energy and value of parts that go into each piece. So, why, wouldn't you want to sell what you have to someone who intends to do their best they can to ensure your piece will end up with someone who will enjoy it for years with preventative maintenance already done to it for a reasonable price. I also know there are re-sellers out there who just buy and re-sell as is and those are the ones that I feel are giving people like me a bad name. I am also offering Consignment Sales for certain grades of audio gear, I have a reputation of selling good quality gear and being fair, I want people to enjoy what they have gotten and if there is a problem, lets work it out together. Even consignment equipment I list will be checked over, cleaned and anything reasonable needing done will be done, consignment gear will always be listed as either consignment or selling for someone else. .... Good Music makes the world a better place in my opinion. Play some good music and watch the reaction on peoples faces ... That should tell you the whole story ....
