Selling items you no longer need directly to another person, without a middle man involved, can be a great way to make easy cash and help other's to find what they need. Also it cuts back on waste going into landfills — but it's not always safe to do. I am an old school honest disabled senior now in a wheelchair. Yet twice I have had people attempt to steal-rob me and try to run away without paying!
The Toronto Police Service issued a public safety alert Tuesday morning to warn prospective Kijiji and Facebook Marketplace sellers about "numerous calls for thefts" at locations within North York.
"Between December 2021 and January 5, 2023, officers have responded to numerous calls for thefts near to intersections, subway stations, plaza's, or at coffee shops, reads the alert.
"It is reported that sellers post an advertisement on Kijiji and Facebook Marketplace looking to sell small electronics. Potential buyers make arrangements with the sellers somewhere in the city
Once there, the seller and buyer meet up, at which point police say, "the buyer then grabs and steals the item(s) from the seller" and flees the area "without providing any payment for the item(s)."
Police believe that there are multiple suspects involved and are urging everyone to use caution when meeting to buy or selling an item online.
"A few tips to consider when purchasing or selling items from online advertisements," reads the safety alerts. "Meet in a public, busy area where security cameras are present, attend the location with a second person, [and] request to view identification prior to handling any items." Or as I do, demand they pay by e-transfer prior to the pick up solves this problem!
I meet only in my building's lobby and nowhere else!
Take it or leave it, keeps me safe from theft....
Twice now I have experienced potential buyers try to grab/steal and run out the door. If you're going to steal from disabled seniors, then you well deserve a broken jaw or worse! I never go alone. My son is always close by and he and God are always watching......my son is an mma fighter with a lethal lightning fast axe kick......

Definition of a matched pair of power tubes
What is the general consensus on power tube matching.
How do you define a "matched pair" (or quad)? If they are tested for transconductance, is that enough?
Matching does not truly apply to cosmetics, same dates codes, although it sure don't hurt either!
It is the output power tubes we refer to as when matched (smaller single driver tubes need not be match yet nice is so,.
But output tubes will sound best when they are within a few wee mA of each
Plate/cathode current within 5mA is close enough.
Matched transconductance within 2% to 10% is a bonus.
Even as high as 7 to 10 mA out usually works fine.
However 7mA is probably the biggest difference in pairs/quads being sold as matched.
This being the acceptable difference before it's no longer accurate to call them a matched.
Trying EL84's that were 10ma apart was/is a problem!
Either one tube would be biased too cold (harsh sounding)
or one would be red-plating all the time or some of both!
Doing the math its with lower dissapation tubes that 10 ma is too much
but 7ma is doable.
With higher wattage bulbs 10 ma is easily doable.
You can get certain output tubes to fall within 50-70% 12 ma apart
With tubes, like EL84s or 6V6s, that are supposed to be biased around 20 mA, a 10mA difference would be a problem.
In 6L6s and EL34s it's not as much of a problem.
Lastly, please keep an open mind; NOTHING ongoing with regular use is going to stay perfectly matched!
A perfectly matched pair today won't be perfectly matched after a few hundred hours of operation.
Many vintage 1950 -60's tubes still some 50 to 60 years later still do show excellent test results within less than 5%

Kindly note:
I'm an old school senior retired military veteran from the 1950's
I have heard it all before, for over 60+ years
I won't accept cash and will only take emt (e-transfers)
If you can't/won't honor my fair and firm prices, terms and conditions
Viruses can last up to 28 days on items such as cash money!!!
No one should be using cash during epidemics!
Furthermore employee's do steal cash, as do the criminally minded (today's thieves)
So please read herein and kindly note there is no need to tell me "you're only paying in cash, as we do not accept cash! Certainly you'll find others who do take cash you can buy from. (Just not from our good vintage tube collection)
By next year the world no longer will be using any cash! (Then no more money laundering, counterfeiting or virus contamination)
Lowballing and rude behavior will be met with blocks
I'm rather contrite to have to include this...
However there are those in the cheap seats who feel they must rudely express themselves
It happens all to often in these current times....
Lets all be respectful please!
Best regards, stay safe and healthy with god's blessings!
Thank you!
