Thinkpad T500 Libreboot / Coreboot, Quad-core Mod, AR9380, USB 3 Introduction

-Libreboot 2024-10-08 (latest) with GRUB2, SeaBIOS, Memtest86+ -Atheros AR9380 mini PCI-E WiFi card (5 GHz, 450 mbps, 3x antenna) [the best ath9k PCI-E WiFi card] -USB 3 via Expresscard -1 TB SATA SSD -Intel Quad core QX9300: By default, the T500 came with a dual-core CPU. The GM45 chipset however technically could handle a quad-core CPU with some serious hardware and software mods (the motherboard has to be soldered and 5 pins on the CPU have to be isolated, a custom version of Coreboot or the latest Libreboot have to be flashed. The Intel Core 2 Quad QX9300 is the best CPU the system can run after doing the mod. If you aren't familiar with Coreboot/Libreboot principles and unsure why this is priced this way, this probably isn't for you.
