The Life and Times of Queen Victoria. 4 Volume Set, 1901

The Life and Times of Queen Victoria. 4 Volume Set, 1901 Introduction

A four volume set of the complete biography of Queen Victoria, originally published in 1886 and reissued in 1901 after her death by Cassell and Company. This edition was distributed by subscription only for the Publishers’ Canadian subscribers. The publication comprises all the relevant events in the Queen’s life from her coronation in 1837 to her death. It also incorporates The Domestic Life of the Queen section and is profusely illustrated with frontispiece and 596 illustrations throughout as well as 31 plates. The books are clean and complete inside except for the inside covers where the former owner thought it necessary to do some scribbling. The bindings are in sound condition retaining their gilt-lettered spines but have some staining, especially volume 4, with the text block also separating from the spine. All of the above mentioned faults are reflected in the low price. A very interesting read and a valuable source of historic information. Measures 10” by 7”.
