TEAC Reel to Reel Motors, Switches, Knobs, Pots and Other Parts Introduction
I am selling the remainder of my TEAC A-2340SX parts machine. Many of these parts are used in other 7 and 10 inch TEAC decks of the same vintage, so please download the HiFi Engine service manuals for your deck and the A-2340SX to determine if parts are interchangeable. I cannot be responsible for model/part compatibility.
I bought this machine incomplete as a parts donor and I don't know what fault brought about its demise, so parts are being sold as-is and untested. I can tell you that the heads had been removed, and that one of the corners of the Front Channel Bias circuit board is cracked (but I don't know if that was the issue that led to its demise).
A number of parts have already been sold or used on my own TEAC decks, but plenty of good parts are still available. Unless a part is very small and flat, postage will be $20 to $25; depending on its destination and the size and weight of the part(s) in the package. As always, local pickup and cash payment is welcome and encouraged. Otherwise, Interac Direct money transfer is appreciated.
Unless noted, if you see it in the photos it is still for sale. If you don't see it, I probably don't have it. Keep in mind that the deck was an incomplete donor machine so I can't guarantee that every electronic component is working correctly, but feel free to ask for close-up photos of specific items if that will help.
The following parts have already been SOLD: heads and head cover, two (of the four) VU meters, both feet and side panels, both reel tables & hub spindles, wired remote control bypass plug, capstan motor, the lower front face plate, all of the black switch tips and stacked pots, a few switches and some hardware. Also, both Rec/Meter Amp (P/N 51670520) PC boards and the Rear Channel Bias (P/N 51670581) PC board were sold to salvage some hard-to-find parts.
I still have the upper front face plate, lower rear plate and hinges, power transformer (P/N 51520860, for US and Canada), capstan flywheel, reel brakes, tape counter (P/N 505851380 - spinning freely without binding), a few knobs and single pots (P/N 50535240), two VU meters (P/N 50581380 - both lamps and needles are tested and working), the solenoid control block and transport buttons, both reel motors and some switches. A few circuit boards are still available, including the cracked Front Channel Bias board (see above), which still might have some hard-to-locate components that seem to be intact. There are also a number of screws, brackets and other hardware available.
My '$15' posted price is the minimum part (or parts) purchase (before the postage cost), to make packing and shipping worthwhile for both of us. There is no minimum purchase for local part sales. My firm asking price is $40 for each reel motor (P/N 71041043 - EM1472 / 41043), or $70 for both (plus shipping). That is less than what you would pay online for just one motor. I also have one 7" TEAC RE-711 metal take-up reel that I am selling for $35, priced lower than the average online price because the 'TEAC' lettering on side 1 has some damage.
