Superb pair of Magnepan MG1 Planar Speakers. Tremendous value at $400 Cash ***or partial trade w/ cash or full trade Yes, I had these up for sale in August but withdrew listing when I had second thoughts about parting with them. Now fate has intervened and I have a set of Magnepan 1.7i s on the way so these will finally have to go to a new home. These MG1 s were redone in 2010 with kits purchased from the Magnepan factory in White Bear Lake Minnesota so no delamination worries . These play flawlessly. Cosmetics are are also superb! Stands are in great shape. No damage, rips or tears to grill cloth and no staining of any kind. These were carefully and meticulously cared for and maintained and have existed in a smoke free pet-free environment their entire existence. Always operated with the greatest of care and attention these have never ever even popped a protection fuse in their lifetime. These Maggies are extremely revealing and match well with almost any amplifier or receiver from low wattage NAD's to more robust equipment like Accuphase and sound spectacular. Fantastic speakers if you know anything about the Planar Design and its unique strengths. NOTE* THESE ARE NOT for the Garage or Man Cave" Pounder" constituency. These Maggies are extremely refined and detailed loudspeakers designed for those looking for articulation, presence, a sense of immediacy, a realistic soundstage and finesse, rather than brute force or ear bleeding SPLs masquerading as Hi-Fi. Recent listings here of similar MG1s (one an on-line auction here in Manitoba. and another set for sale in the Stonewall area) were a full 50% more so my PRICE IS EMMINNENTLY REASONABLE AND FAIR) I am not conducting a fire sale. My price reflects my desire for these to go to someone who can appreciate these and recognizes the opportunity presented here. Cash, in and of itself, is not my primary motivation--enthusiasm, intelligence, civil, courteous and informed communication and the reciprocity of goodwill is encouraged! I have lots of music on hand here, Jazz, Blues, Rock, Classical, Pop so can demo quite capably. Nincompoops. time-wasters and other similar sub-species will be ignored and blocked.
