These Stax SR-5 electrostatic headphones are the original 'Normal' voltage design, not the current 'Pro' version. Like most (maybe all) electrostatics of this vintage there is a brief channel imbalance if they haven't been used in a while (my firm price reflects this), but after a few minutes of play they sound fine; great actually. Prior to posting this I hadn't used them for several months and they took 2 to 3 minutes for the levels to balance. They are in excellent cosmetic condition, even the original leather earpads and headband cover. They do fit a bit loosely, so they are best-suited to larger heads. The passive Stax SRD-7/SB energizer is included (but the headphone stand is not). It connects directly to the outputs of a power amplifier (with connections and switching for the speakers), and it is working as it should. If you have been interested in electrostatics but were put off by the price, here is a great introduction at a very reasonable price. I will consider an equitable LOCAL trade for a quality pair of dynamic headphones. Please be SPECIFIC (make, model, condition, etc) if you have an trade in mind.
