17” frame is good for someone 5’6” to 5’10”.
Could be a fun Gatineau Park ripper for someone (you? Your kid?) who wants to try mountain biking. Would also work as a commuter or touring bike. Maybe you want something half decent to keep at your cottage to ride gravel roads.
