Ferrite & Ferrite heads
This piece had been sitting for some time gathering dust and over time, the Gremlins were allowed to roost. Cleaned the heads with isopropyl alcohol and lubed All mechanizims. Deoxit sprayed the Dolby and tape selector switches. Cleaned it up and it’s playing beautifully right now. It had been acting up through the process with the right meter twitching, shutting off the receiver and a power noise through again the right channel.
All buttons are now functioning as they should, FF RWD and of course PLAY pause stop and eject buttons.
I don’t know about you but I’m privy to the analogue style meters over the digital LED’s. Some late 70’s early 80’s JVC’s incorporated both to keep people happy. Some higher end Sony’s did as well.
This is the entry level cassette from 1978 but still cost $300 new and has the classic look of the 70’s!
