I purchased these because my old sony speakers had finally bit the dust.
Most built-in speakers on laptops usually suck and when you want to hear music, you want to HEAR music!
I have always preferred sony for their superior performance and this product is no exception.
I had a little trouble connecting it at first as I chose the wrong on-screen computer setting
for the speakers when I connected them to my laptop.
Once I shose "Dell Computer Speakers", the sound was great. A little overpriced, but so glad I bought them!

I was actually on Amazon.com to purchase another pair of these amazing little speakers.
My first set I paid about $100 9 years ago at a Sony Outlet store where they sell refurbished electronics.
You can see they hold their value very well, and for good reason.
They are sturdy, they sound amazing and they have very good highs and respectable lows.
Here's a tip: if you're using these at a computer, bring them up to above or about ear level
and it will sound like you have a smaller subwoofer attached.
I have taken these with me to Europe and they are always the first thing I pack when I want
to take my music with me on the road.
I actually lost the original power adaptor for these but I found an excellent replacement for it.
Radio Shack sells a 9v 1500mA compact AC adaptor that works absolutely perfectly with these speakers (273-1771). I can crank the volume way up and the adaptor never gets hot.
I challenge anyone to find a better set of stereo speakers for this price.
