According to Sony service manual the C27 is the same as CDP-C215/CDP-C315, with only difference being slightly different front and rear panels and lack or presence of remote control when new.
Inside, the are all the same.
Why Sony made so many different models that are the same inside?
Probably for marketing reasons... at that (golden CD era) time Sony engineering department
could afford to design and produce dozens of similar looking CD players with all-Sony parts inside,
and all-different circuit board layouts.
Please do not confuse this model (as many folks do) with later made (1993 - 1999) CDP-CE215 or CDP-215, those are entirely different, have much cheaper build (and made either in Malaysia or China)
This Sony will be tested for local Ottawa area buyer at the front door with a quality vintage amp and speakers.
