Not much needs to be said about the HD 599 Series. They're around ear open back. These are still fairly neutral cans compared to the artificially bass boosted stuff marketed by Beats etc. These are reference headphones for those who want to hear the music as it was recorded, but they're a tiny bit more bass heavy than the 598. Please do your research.
