SANSUI AU-555 STEREO INTEGRATED AMPLIFIER * JAPAN *

SANSUI AU-555 STEREO INTEGRATED AMPLIFIER * JAPAN * Introduction

MAJOR CLASSIC, NICE, SUPER CLEAN, ALL ORIGINAL NEVER REPAIRED, FULLY SERVICED, WORKS AND SOUNDS LIKE NEW The Sansui triple digit series stand apart from the rest. The build quality is as good as it gets, regardless of price tag, old or new, see the pictures The circuit of AU-555 mimics a tube amp, but with solid state transistors in place of tubes. The sound is similar to a high quality tube amplifier, without all the tube hassles. The sound quality is similar to that of Marantz 1060, however I feel the Sansui wins in overall warmth and smoothness. This AU-555 will be tested for local Ottawa area buyer at the front door with CD player, turntable and speakers. Can be shipped in Canada, keep reading. * Production: Japan, 1971 * All capacitors are premium Elna * Original metal power transistors: NEC 2SD180 X4 TO-3 type * Voltage: 100/117/220/240V (switch inside) * Engraved lettering * Custom wood case with beautiful lacquer finish * Pre Out/Main in RCA jacks * Speakers: A, B, A+B, Off 4~16 Ohms * Headphones jack * Phono1 MM, Phono2 MM, Tape Head, Mic, Aux1, Aux2, Tape DIN, Tape Loop RCA * Note: Tape Head is the same as Phono input, but without RIAA EQ; it's a simple mod to convert that input to RIAA compliant operation * Speaker damping switch: High, Low * Dual L/R Treble controls * Dual L/R Bass controls * High Filter * Low Filter * Balance, Volume * -20 dB Muting * Stereo/Mono switch * Tape Monitor switch * Loudness * 2 extra power outlets: 1 switched, 1 unswitched * Multiple fuse protection and circuit overload/short protection All fuses are original; never stressed, never blown. * Power output: 20 + 20 Watts RMS (into 8 Ohms Stereo 20-20KHz); grossly underrated, same as vintage Marantz * Frequency response: 20 - 50,000 Hz * THD: 0.5% at full power, 0.15% at 1 Watt output (normal home listening level) * Damping factor: 12 (same as most tube amps) * Input sensitivity: 3.5mV (mic), 2mV (MM), 200mV (line) * Signal to noise ratio: 80dB (MM), 80dB (line) * Output: 140mV (line) * Semiconductors: 22 x transistors, 6 x diodes, 4 x thermistors, 1 x SCR * Net Weight: 17.4 LBS, without wood case, very heavy for the size Exact size: W :16 1/4 inches H: 6 inches case depth: 11 7/8 inches total amp depth (with knobs): 13 inches Note: all internal pictures were taken with shield covers removed, for best view; however all shield covers are included, mounted in place.
