The circuit of AU-555 mimics a tube amp, but with solid state transistors in place of tubes.
The sound is similar to a high quality tube amplifier, without all the tube hassles.
The sound quality is similar to that of Marantz 1060, however I feel the Sansui wins in overall warmth and smoothness.
This AU-555 will be tested for local Ottawa area buyer at the front door with CD player, turntable and speakers.
