Sansui AU-4900 Stereo Integrated Amplifier

Sansui AU-4900 Stereo Integrated Amplifier Introduction

Sweet sounding Sansui AU-4900. All resistors and capacitors replaced when I bought it 3 years ago. Speaker terminals upgraded. One sweet sounding amp with a good headphone section. It was for a 2nd system which isn't going to happen. It sat in a box. The greatest strength of the 4900 is its clarity and soul for the midrange, then in second place, a detailed soundstage, and third, the bass that is tight. An all rounder for pop, rock, jazz and any large orchestral works. If you want to buy one, make sure it has had its capacitors changed to hear its true potential... • The Sansui AU-4900 is an integrated stereo amplifier giving 38 watts per channel minimum into 8 ohms at 1000Hz with no more than 0.15% total harmonic distortion. Features include: Plus-minus symmetrical power supply. Adequate power to reproduce the full dynamic range. Direct-coupled, low-noise transistors in extremely accurate phono equaliser circuitry. Elaborate protection through an electronic relay, instead of fuses. High and low filter, audio muting and Mic mixing facility.
