The D-340 is a hard to find model with a truly excellent sound, big wide soundstage and clarity, better than old D-33/D-34 bricks, better than D-321 and almost as good as D-303 (first version, Sony changed DACs on 303 mid-production).
To compare, prices for both D-321 and D-303 have been skyrocketing for the last decade and now stand
at CAD $250 - $700/ working piece. The external build on D-340 is not as good as of those models of course, but the sound and the price....
