M&K Center-75 Center Channel Speaker In the early 70’s Jonas Miller and Ken Kreisel partnered in a hi-fidelity shop on Wilshire blvd. in Beverly Hills California. Selling the highest quality audio equipment gave them a unique education on the deficiencies and strengths of the top rated equipment. One disturbing aspect of virtually every loudspeaker system was their inability to reproduce the low frequency range of recordings. The top systems of the day were the Quad and Magneplanar, both of which were well known to have weak bass. Kreisel designed a subwoofer that would perfectly complement these systems, providing excellent transient response and a new level of depth. When Miller and Kreisel became one of the top Quad and Magneplanar dealers, other shops were curious. Soon these shops also began placing orders for the homebrewed subwoofers and M&K was catapulted into the Hi-Fidelity arena. M&K grew from there introducing new concept and technologies to the industry. They pioneered the satellite/subwoofer speaker concept that laid the groundwork for the home theaters of today.
