Pioneer SX 1250 vintage stereo receiver amplifier.
160 watts per channel into 8ohms.
The 2nd from the top-of-the-line SX-1980 ($10 000+), and many reviews claim this one sounds better.
Rarely do these appear, and even rarer are they untouched and original.
I can find no others in Canada currently for sale. The closest is an SX-1280 in MB fully rebuilt, asking $5800.
Was recently brought to a tech because it was going into protect mode. Issue resolved. I've been using it for a month now as my daily receiver; no issues apparent. No crackling when adjusting volume or balance knobs. See video.
Missing one knob for the hi-frequency adjust, but they're readily available on eBay. Unfortunately the stem is also broken so I believe the face-plate will need to come off to facilitate repair.
Asking $3250, which is fair for an original unit that would benefit from a re-cap. Find a tech who knows how to rebuild it properly and you'll have a unit that's better than new, and will last the rest of your life. Fix the stem/knob while you're at it.
LOCATED IN OKOTOKS. No holds without deposit. You're very welcome to come hear it and test it all out.
Speakers in the video are Polk RTi-4 (125 watt handling) and receiver is nowhere near its full power.
