Buyer beware. Pallet racking not manufactured in Canada could be the major downfall of your business.
Pallet racking being used in Canada must be CWB certified and certifiable by a Canadian licensed engineer. By code the racking MUST also be traceable back to the manufacturer. All Canadian brands of racking have the ACTUAL manufacturers logo making it easy to trace it back.
Imported rack is not a good idea if you can not trace the racking back to the ACTUAL manufacturer for proof of design, capacity and tensile of the steel and also proof of CWB certification.
If the proper documentation is not provided to Ministry Of Labor when they come to you business for a surprise visit your business can be given a stop work order.
This means your business will be shut down until you can come up with proper documentation or you remove the rack entirely.
These people selling import rack promote cheap in their ads but they will not tell you this.
They will not be in trouble if you buy from them, you will be.
With so many companies now popping up selling import rack you may think it’s all right but MOL are the police of businesses and they will be enforcing the laws.
