This circa-1994 stereo receiver delivers a true 70-watt RMS/channel at 8 ohms with remote. Yamaha designates their audio products as “Natural Sound”. Through the use of top- quality components and excellent design, their components deliver superior sound quality. The RX-series stereo receivers represent some of their best products. This receiver has many high-end features such as supporting 2 pairs of main speakers and front-panel tone controls. “Pure Direct” switching is also offered which bypass the tone controls and input multiplexer respectively for cleaner sound. The RX-570 uses discrete output transistors, rather than integrated circuit modules, for each channel for better performance. All the standard inputs are there including an excellent-sounding phono stage. Audio Science Review is a technical website that does detailed testing and evaluation of mostly new audio gear. They reviewed a similar Yamaha receiver (RX-596) and compared it to modern gear. They were surprised that it outperforms modern gear coating 10 times as much. For example, the receiver easily outperforms the modern NAD T758 which sells for $2300 !
