LAN-Link V4 – The Software Link (1 Server, 3 Satellites) Introduction
This is an early (~1985) Local Area Network & Multi Tasking system add-on for early vintage IBM PCs, running MS-DOS or PC-DOS. This set includes 3 User Guides, 1 Server install floppy (5.25 inch), 3 Satellite install floppies, and the decryption codes used for installation. This add-on then turns a PC into a multi tasking OS / Serial Network server that can have 3 serially connected PCs (or more), can run up to16 different tasks simultaneously, and runs a print server that can handle several printers connected to the server. The serial network runs at 115,200 baud, and uses data compression for transfers. Full implementation of this system benefits from additional Memory Expansion cards. Additional Serial Interface cards may also be required, depending on your existing system (not included, but see my other ads showing this additional equipment).
This software should be considered untested, but was known to work when taken out of service. This system is of main interest to those collecting and running early vintage IBM PC systems. It is not intended for current systems. Excellent condition. From a smoke and pet free home.
