KEF iQ1 high quality vintage bookshelf speakers Introduction
Audiophile-grade sound quality from small speakers! And good looking too, with nice curves to the cabinets, but with some cosmetic damage….
These feature dual-concentric speaker drivers (like Tannoy is famous for), meaning the tweeters are built into the middle of the woofers. This helps project all the music from one point in space, for the best possible sound quality and imaging.
(Think of it like having one speaker per ear in a headphone, instead of a vertical row of speakers on each side which place different frequencies at different heights above and below your ear. One speaker, pointed at the middle of the ear, sounds more natural than multiple speakers pointed at different places.)
These speakers work perfectly, and are an outstanding value at this price. But they’re cheap because they’ve suffered some cosmetic damage. The top front corners of one box are chipped and dented (shown in two of the photos), and on the other box the veneer has started to pull away from the edges, actually giving it a unique, kind of cool look.
Of course these issues don’t affect anything other than the looks, so if you’re not picky you can get them for half the going rate!
The dimensions are 11.5” tall, 7” wide and 11” deep.
Asking $120. As always, you’re welcome and encouraged to fully test the speakers in person prior to purchase
