This amp is about twice the size and weight of a normal one, so you know it’s serious! The Yamaha DSP-A1 is a vintage amplifier with way too many features to list - most of them related to home theatre and Digital Signal Processing (DSP) options - but I just used it as a stereo amp, which it’s also amazing at! It does technically do 5.1 though, and will push 110 watts to each of those channels so it’s well equipped to handle home theatre duties too. It has tons of inputs, including multiple optical and coaxial connectors, and nearly a dozen pairs of RCA inputs - one of which is for Phono, so you can connect your turntable directly to it without a separate preamp. Of course as nice as it sounds, it also looks like one of the coolest amps ever, with a champagne-coloured faceplate and chassis with wood sideburns. The remote is included, and proportional to the amp - that is to say it’s huge too! It not only handles every conceivable function on the amp, but it also has controls for every other kind of Yamaha equipment as well. The amp’s condition is excellent overall, but not perfect; the display is somewhat dim and there are some dead pixels, but it’s still totally legible. There are a couple of minor scrapes on the metal top cover. And the left side wood veneer has delaminated in places, so it looks slightly bubbled out - really hard to notice though, as you can see from the last photo where I tried to show it as clearly as possible. Note that I’m serious about the mass of this thing; it weighs a little more than 50 lbs, and measures about 19” wide, 8” tall and 19” deep, so it may be too large and/or heavy for some stands. Asking $250, a killer deal for this quality (and quantity) of amp. As always, you’re welcome and encouraged to fully test it prior to purchase.
