Excellent Vintage PIONEER SX-636 Silver-Face Receiver

Excellent Vintage PIONEER SX-636 Silver-Face Receiver Introduction

A beautiful example of one of the Pioneer SX-series silver-face receivers from 1974. This series of Pioneer receivers is considered one of the most desirable due to the solid build, general use of discrete components, excellent sound, great looks, and durability. The SX-636 is conservatively rated at only 25 continuous watts per channel RMS – enough to drive any reasonably efficient speakers to high volume. It sounds just as good as its bigger family members with a clear but warm sound. The phono stage is excellent and the FM reception is strong. Specifications and reviews: https://www.hifiengine.com/manual_library/pioneer/sx-636.shtml https://classicreceivers.com/pioneer-sx-636 Condition Fully-tested and sounding great. All lights, meters and controls working properly. Controls are cleaned and silent and the sound is strong and clear. Phono and FM stereo working well. An excellent candidate for full restoration but clean inside and out and complete with the original Sanken output transistors. The faceplate and knobs are in excellent condition with only a few small marks on close inspection. The wood finish enclosure is in very good condition.
