Dell PowerEdge R720 Rackmount Server. In good working condition. No major damage cosmetic or mechanical. It has the following specs:
2 x Intel Xeon E5-2695 V2 CPUs
256 GB DDR3 ECC RAM
8 x 3 TB SAS HDs
iDRAC 7 controllerPERC H710 RAID controller
4 1 GB Ethernet ports
Dual 750W PSUs
The server was purchased from another home lab user I think around 2 years ago. It runs fine and has no physical damage.
I'm currently running Proxmox on it. I've tried XCP-ng and it runs that fine too. I've also used VMWare ESXi 6.5 on it. I haven't tried 7.0. I did recently try to install 8.0 and according to Dell this server is not supported by ESXi 8.0. It will install with a warning about no longer supporting the CPU architecture, but once installed it's been buggy in my experience. If you get this server I think the maximum ESXi version you can put on it is 6.7
If you request I can send a video of the machine running or the bootup process (it's a long long boot process).
There is a trick you can use to get NVME SSDs installed in this system. You can also attach 2 SSDs (2.5") with the help of additional hardware.
