--------( 1st printing of the First edition -SIGNED ) ---hardcover, a solid Good to Very Good example, black cloth with gilt lettering and design (on front board), some light wear and rubbing to edges and tips with a bit of fraying to cloth, loss at spine tips, some discolouration to the upper edge of the text block, some age toning and browning to a few pages, some pages remain uncut and some pages were cut a bit roughly (but nothing too serious), 270 pages, b&w illustrations ---this copy has been signed and inscribed by the author on the half title page "Miss Gray with the author's kind regards RAHBS", ---a scarce book in the 1st edition but even moreso signed, the appendix has a number of interesting additions one of which is the number of Christians / Mussulmans (MUSLIMS) and Others in each town and city as well as Christians, Mussulmans in each profession,
