Computrainer Introduction

Computrainer was one of the original smart trainers on the market. As DC rainmaker states, this trainer is “a beast structurally.” I have ridden many wheel on and off trainers in the last 40 years and this is the most solid stand I have ever been on. I bought these a few years ago for Zwift. I was tired of suing a Cyclops that didn’t connect to Zwift, and wasn’t ready to spend $1,500.00+ on a new Wahoo. So a friend, whose son had trained at the oval for years on a Computrainer, showed me how these worked. He helped me by the pair, test them and set them up. I bought two as I was skeptical that a trainer in this price range would be reliable, I only ever used one, the backup was never needed. The computrainer is the gold standard of the power trainers, the Computrainer can connect to external apps, it has an ERG mode to provide the workout you choose. The computrainer is a wired trainer that requires electrical plug in. The handlebar monitor provides a screen with the power output and cadence. You can connect it to a laptop and on-line applications such as perfPro to guide your planned workout or do it in ERG mode. I used it on zwift for 2 winters making it a very in-expensive way to see if I was a serious on line, indoor, winter- trainer guy.If you don't have power pedals or a smart trainer, this is for you at a fraction of the cost.
