CLASSIC BIG SANSUI 7070 STEREO RECEIVER *SERVICED*

CLASSIC BIG SANSUI 7070 STEREO RECEIVER *SERVICED* Introduction

CLEANED,DEOXED AND LUBED, NEW LED LIGHTS INSTALLED, LAMP BOARD RESOLDERED, BIAS AND DC OFFSET ADJUSTED A beauty, works great, sounds fantastic! Never blown, all fuses and transistors are original. When you see in description "problematic transistors replaced", that usually means there were (or are) serious issues with that stereo (blown, major repair, etc). That's how some Ottawa area sellers hide that fact. Not with this Sansui, it's a transistor virgin. One of the finest vintage receivers; the sound quality is very very close to that of 9090 or 9090db. With proper speakers the 7070 will bring live concert to you. There's one thing to understand regarding Model 7070: while in pictures it looks "almost" like 5050, cute blue lights and all, in reality they are very different beasts. The 7070 is almost double the weight and double the size of something like Sansui 5050. It also sounds entirely different in terms of transparency, punch and dynamics. The 5050 is mid-fi at the best, while 7070 is pure high-end stereo, in modern terms. That's why the price difference. The 7070 belongs right there with 9090, they are actually very similar in engineering and sound quality. An audiophile who cannot afford a 9090 will still be entirely happy with 7070. This Sansui will be tested for local Ottawa area buyer at the front door with CD player, FM radio, turntable and speakers. Can be shipped in Canada, keep reading. 2.5-hrs maintenance service done 05/2022, details: * Taken apart, cleaned and detailed in and out; * All controls/pots/connectors deoxed/lubed/sealed using pro grade D100/F5/G5 ($126/3 cans) for noise-free performance; * Lamps replaced with new LED; * All lamp holder circuit board solder joints reflowed with fresh solder (they are notorious on these 1976-1977 Sansui for becoming intermittent/cold, and all eventually go bad unless re-soldered: lights flickering or no lights at all); * Bias voltages adjusted to factory specs, 20 mV L/R; the amp now runs lukewarm as it should, not hot, not cold; * FM MPX adjusted for best reception in Stereo; * This 7070 was fully tested, all functions work.
