1983 Redline PL-20
This was purchased as a “mostly” complete time capsule. Still had some 80’s dirt on the tires.
The PL-20 was my dream bike I couldn’t have as a kid. So it has been worshipped since I’ve owned it. Most of the parts are hand-tightened, which is why the chain is loose. Frame-savers on the drop outs.
My goal was to get it to factory, just like the ad in BMX Action I stared at, which I almost did.
OG parts that were born with the original bike as purchased as far I know.
Frame/Fork OG! still has the bike store’s sticker
Wheel set including tires
Chain
Seat
Seat post
Headset (?)
Components
STR bars, chrome has some bumps and pitting but pretty good overall
DC 900 brake/cable/lever Marked 83
Brute stem - the bolt is likely not OG and was drilled out for a Potts Mod.
NOS Parts
(I might still have the packaging here and will be included if I find it)
We can take these bits off the bike and reduce the price a bit if desired.
Suntour pedals
Suntour Headset lock
DC seat clamp. (should be a black Suntour)
Other
90s 401 crank set. A decent set. I think it’s missing a nut somewhere. But I never intended to keep it on this bike anyway.
Grips are NOS Machs. But from two packs (throttle) of MX. I’ll include the non-throttle sized ones as well.
Overall, a great bike that I’ve enjoyed owning.
Cheers
