Here is a gorgeous condition pair of Altec Valencia 846B - in most attractive dark walnut cabinets. This is the best condition pair you are going to find imo, for the following reasons: - they are all original, I bought them 2 years ago from the son of the original owner who passed away. - almost matching numbers, serial 11559 and 11662 - the cabinets are absolutely mint condition, hardly a mark on them. And they are gorgeous dark walnut in colour. - those are the original burlap grills, which are very hard to find, often been replaced with regular/homemade speaker grills. They are missing the original foam (long since disintegrated) but could be restored to new. Aural Hifi sells replacement foam. - the accordion surrounds on the woofers look like they were possibly replaced to me, but I'm not sure. Look like new. - there is foam added around the top horn which is a common mod to absorb some reverberation. - with the foam added to the grills they would be 100% original, as per the last brochure photo. These sound phenomenal with "hit you in the chest bass" and unparalleled clarity, detail and transparency from the famous VOTT horn. These are the same drivers as the more famous A7 Voice of the Theater speakers, but in a more home friendly furniture grade cabinet. These are obviously large and heavy, I could meet or deliver them a distance for the right, serious buyer.
