About the model The Hitachi PS-15 is designed to meet higher performance standards for audiophiles who wish to enjoy superb sound reproduction. The turntable has an easy-to-use full automatic mechanism. Record play starts automatically, after adjusting to the record size and actuating the operation lever. One can enjoy record with very simple procedure. For platter drive, a capacitor lead-phase 16-pole synchronous motor is employed, giving a high signal-to-noise ratio. For the full automatic mechanism, a geared motor is employed which keeps the platter rotation stable. A dial type anti-skating mechanism is employed which performs stable tracing, preventing skating of the tone arm at the circumference of the record. The excellent-tracing tone arm with low center of gravity and high grade cartridge precisely traces the sound grooves in the record. The balance weight is an accurate direct-reading type in 0.2 g units, and a vertical moving magnet type cartridge which enhances tone quality is employed.
